Winery

A picturesque vineyard and a modern building in the middle of it - this is the view that welcomes a visitor of the TERRA PARNA winery.

We are proud of how we managed to connect history with state-of-the-art architecture and modern technology.

They are imaginary coordinates leading to a good wine. The owner of the winery, Jozef Zvolenský,  stand behind its quality.

Vineyard and viticulture

The quality of wine is born in the vineyard, which requires constant care.

Seasonal green work starting with the cleaning of the trunks, the subsequent reduction of the yield together with ecological protection and manual harvesting are a guarantee of the quality of our wines.

With each vintage, we are convinced that the less we do in the cellar, the better and more faithful the wine is. It's its own. You can feel the history of the place, the sunlight of the summer and the night breeze from the Small Carpathian hills.

Planting vines and varieties

When searching among the locals, what kind of variety the people in Sucha nad Parnou used to grow, they all agreed on Blue Portugal with a dreamy look back to their youth. Historical sources date back to the 17th century in mentions of its cultivation in this region.

Thus, Modrý Portugal became our dominant variety - out of respect for the past, for the genius loci, but also from a quite logical consideration of how to find its place among the increasingly better Slovak wineries.

We have thus become one of the few wineries that proudly bring this original variety to the tables of wine lovers.

The rest of our oldest vineyard Trnavské vrchy, planted in 2003, is inhabited by Saint Laurent, Alibernet, Rhein Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc.

In 2014, we planted a new vineyard in the locality of Mladá hora, where we remained faithful to Riesling and Sauvignon, but we supplemented the planting with another variety that has always dominated the vineyards of the Small Carpathians - Grüner Veltliner.
